Most of our textile fibers are synthetic (made from petroleum).

Cotton, wool, hemp and linen are the main natural sources  used in the manufacture of fabrics and clothing .  

Cotton has gradually replaced hemp.

Cotton cultivation requires enormous amounts of water, insecticides and pesticides for the non-organic.

The cultivation of hemp is much less polluting and consumes water, fossilizes CO2, structures the soil, pumps nitrates and heavy metals, is a reservoir of biodiversity and the uses of its co-products are numerous:
