TAX THE SUPER PROFITS
Our country is facing a historic rise in prices. Inflation is already above 6%. The impact is considerable for millions of young people, employees, unemployed or retired people who simply can no longer live, feed themselves or move around. It's urgent !
At the same time, large multinationals are taking advantage of this situation. Rising prices have enabled them to generate record profits for several months. In the first half of 2022, Total's profits amounted to 18.8 billion euros, for example... even though this company paid no tax in France in 2019 and 2020. It's unbearable!
Faced with this situation, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom have implemented a tax on super-profits. The UN Secretary General said he was in favor of such a measure. The deputies of insubordinate France and the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (NUPES) also made this proposal to the National Assembly. But Emmanuel Macron, the president of the rich, still refuses this simple measure to put in place.
We demand that a law taxing the super-profits of multinationals be passed as soon as possible. It is a demand for justice in the face of the social situation that our country is experiencing today.

In one of the most beautiful natural parks in the world in northern Uganda, TotalEnergies wants to start drilling to supply crude oil to what would be the longest heated pipeline in the world: 1,440 km maintained at 50°C. Up to 34 million tonnes of CO2 would be emitted each year for 25 or 30 years and would precipitate climate change and its procession of deadly disasters.
